A new Westvic Staffing Solutions program is giving job seekers access to work experience and community groups access to volunteer helpers. Westvic Staffing Solutions is entering the work experience phase of its Job Services Australia contract and is looking for community groups to host job seekers.

A new pilot project in south-west Victoria aims to develop 20 job-ready assistant farmhands over the next six months. WestVic Dairy, Westvic Staffing Solutions and the National Centre for Dairy Education Australia (NCDEA) have joined forces for the In2Dairy Assistant Farmhand project which is designed to address skills shortages on south-west farms.

Students in the Glenelg and Southern Grampians regions will benefit from new workplace learning placements in a new $500,000 project. Westvic Staffing Solutions has won a tender to deliver the Workplace Learning Coordinators Program in the Glenelg Southern Grampians LLEN region from July this year.

Westvic second year building apprentice Tim Martin will be heading to Canberra in August 2010 to participate in the national apprentice and trainee leadership program Today's Skills: Tomorrow's Leaders. Tim is one of twenty-two young people from across Australia who have been selected to attend the program. Westvic, along with Tim's host employer BDH Constructions, congratulates Tim on his success and wishes him well during his trip to Canberra.
