Warrnambool’s former ambulance station will become the new home for Westvic Staffing Solutions.
The employment and training agency has purchased the Koroit Street property and plans to demolish the existing building and construct a new purpose-built facility on the site.

School programs that promote the mental health and wellbeing of students and highlight issues surrounding alcohol abuse are among those to be funded by the Westvic Staffing Solutions foundation for 2012.
The Foundation has supported seven different projects with a focus on health, wellbeing and safety as part of its $100,000 community support program for 2011-12.

Colac landscaper Nick Stoddart has been shining in his job since day one, according to his boss.
Now Nick has confirmation of his good work after being named Westvic Staffing Solutions’ Apprentice of the Year.
Nick is hosted by Wayne Fitzgerald, of Colac, who said his apprentice was a pleasure to work with and always keen to learn.

Portland’s Jade Cockerill has been able to balance her studies and work to win a regional employment award.
Jade is completing year 12 at Bayview College while undertaking an Australian School Based Apprenticeship (ASBA). She is hosted by the Portland Child and Family Centre and employed by Westvic Staffing Solutions.
Jade has been named Westvic’s ASBA of the Year, beating finalists from Warrnambool, Hamilton and Colac to win the title.

What an exciting year for Westvic school based apprentice Kayla Bradley and her Holstein stud, Miss Moo, with success at the Adelaide, Melbourne and Camperdown shows.
Now in year 10, Kayla is studying a Certificate II in Agriculture as part of a school based apprenticeship in Dairy.

Port of Portland Operations Manager Alan Byers hopes to further develop his passion for mentoring employees to reach their potential in his new role as a board member of Westvic Staffing Solutions.
The appointment came about after Westvic helped the Port of Portland in the selection of an apprentice fitter and turner.

There's something to be said for learning on the job and Warrnambool teenager Dylan Fischer knows all about that.
Up until four weeks ago, the 18-year-old was studying information technology at university but now he's a trainee IT worker at South West Alliance of Rural Health.
Mr Fischer found the job with the help of Westvic Staffing Solutions - one of the record number of people to do so this year.

Cobden Technical School principal and Westvic board member Peter Rock delivered an insightful report on apprenticeships and traineeships at the board meeting on August 25.
Peter's report was based on statistical information from LSAY (Longitudinal Surveys of Australian Youth) and ACER (Australian Council for Educational Research) and highlighted several interesting aspects of apprenticeship and traineeship participation, progress and completion.
